The staff was professional and friendly to my children. The food in the restaurant was superb. Visited: March 2005 Posted by sandrabcorcoran This was our second stay here, and our fourth visit to Barbados. On our first visit, we bought a timeshare at South Beach - and they are still building it. On our first visit to our timeshare we got married - just a wonderful occasion. We celebrated our second wedding anniversary on this visit. The sumptious restaurant was newly opened. The staff was so friendly, professional and welcoming. The resort was very clean and modern - we just loved the decor. All the balconies faced the sea. Sunbeds were free on the beach near the Splash, a reasonably-priced beach restaurant where you can buy drinks and food. It was an excellent addition. Bus stops were nearby, and Reggae buses were easy to come across. There were also lots of lovely restaurants and eating locations nearby which were within walking distance. Supermarkets were nearby, too. There was also a washing machine and dryer on each floor - all we needed to provide was the detergent. The beach and sea across the road were perfect. It was quiet, but not too quiet. And St. Lawrence Gap was not too far away. There was a taxi rank across the road, so taxis were always on hand if needed. It was just a fabulous spot that was perfect for us. We can be on holiday, but can also be part of Barbados life - which we adore. Prices are not ridiculous - as long as a good rate of exchange. Visited: March 2004 Posted by kal46 My girlfriend and I stayed at South Beach in March of 2004 for one week. The hotel was very accommodating, and the staff took wonderful care of us. The rooms were clean, and the small kitchens were a perfect way to cook a simple meal so we could live lavishly at the Gap at night. South Beach was right across the street from the Beach and five minutes from the St. Lawrence Gap. Visited: May 2003 Posted by mwever We just returned from South Beach Resort and I was not disappointed with our choice. The accommodations were clean and modern. The whole place was well designed with an awesome pool and bar on the deck. It was convenient to the beach, stores and restaurants. Also, the staff went out of their way to assist us and give us advice regarding where to eat, and what to do on the island. I did extensive research before going to Barbados, and I'm sure that I picked one of the nicest places on the island at a very reasonable price. This is a fantastic hotel. Visited: October 2002 Posted by benlockwood79 My wife and I honeymooned at South Beach and had a great time. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were pleased with our stay. The manager of the hotel even drove us to our dinner at the The Cliff. The facilities were all new, clean, and well maintained. The resort was newly remodeled in tropical colors. We have stayed at a lot of resorts throughout the Caribbean, so far this resort ranks at the top. The staff at the front desk was helpful and very friendly. The housekeeping staff was also great. The area of the hotel had everything that we needed within walking distance (the video store, grocery stores, great restaurants, and a great beach just across the street).
