Accra Beach was a nice place to stay! Visited: January 2007 |

I was at the Accra overnight on business, and will return again. The accommodations were nice for the price in comparison to other hotels in Christ Church.
I had a view of the shops across the street. An ocean view would be perfect at the right price for my next visit. |

It was our first trip to Barbados. We found that Accra Beach Hotel was located close enough to both St.Lawrence Gap and Bridgetown.
We are glad that we did not go on the meal plan, because there were three small, but very nice cafes across the street. In fact, it was much cheaper to have meal outsde of the hotel. However, we would recommend to have breakfast in Accra.
The only low point that we would like to mention was that there were a few drug sellers on the beach. They were very annoying.
The beach was nice, though.
We would like to visit Accra next summer. |

October 2006, I visited the Accra Beach Hotel Barbados. I really enjoyed my stay here.
The staff was friendly and helpful; everything was clean and tidy; and room service changed sheets and towels every day. Also, there was a lovely beach.
Construction of a new wing was not too much of a problem, and didn't hinder the holiday. It should be finished February 2007 according to the locals, and there was no heavy construction taking place as they were only finishing off.
If I visit again (which is likely), I will definitely choose a pool or ocean view. The inland view did spoil the stay (in my opinion), although we didn't spend much time in the room. It just would have been nice to look over the sea after getting ready to go out! |

We had a fabulous time here. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, and the rooms were clean. Also, the food was great - especially the Polynesian restaurant.
In addition, the beach was perfect and was not too busy. |

My husband and I stayed here for vacation, and it was great.
The staff at the hotel was very accommodating to all our needs.
The room was great! There was AC, a Jacuzzi on the balcony, and a T.V. with cable.
Ask for the Honey Package (you do not have to be a newlywed to get it either)! You pay a little more, but you get a room upgrade, complimentary dinner and breakfast (with champagne and a gift basket), and a full-day excursion. Ours was a catamaran cruise where we went snorkeling.
The beach was gorgeous and quiet. The water was clear and beautiful, and the sand was white. There weren't any water activities available at their beach, so if you're interested in jet skiing or something, you have to make arrangements with their activities desk.
They offered meal plans separate from the rate of the hotel room. There were three restaurants, all of which we enjoyed. The property also had a pool.
My only gripe was that the shower was a little small.
We came back refreshed, and are already making plans to return. |

What a week of bliss! Visited: March 2005 |

We used this website to decide on the Accra, after weighing it against similarly priced places like Savannah, Bougainvillea, and Casurina. We were not disappointed!
The hotel was on a wonderful beach, with plenty of space, warm blue water, and waves that were big enough to have fun in, but not big enough to scare the timid away. The pool was very large, clean, and set to a good temperature. Though we wanted to see the island a bit, we would have been happy to spend our whole week at the pool or beach!
We were on a honeymoon, and got the Seventh Heaven package. I would recommend it even if you're not on a honeymoon! For only $135, we got upgraded to an ocean view suite (value: $100+ per night), a free dinner (value: $75 or so), a champagne breakfast (value $50, and included, cereal, pastries, eggs, pancakes, hot chocolate - basically anything we wanted). And, it included, the highlight of our trip, a boat cruise on the Tiami (value: $140). So just the boat cruise alone would cause you to break even. It was definitely worth it.
The room was great, if a little small for a suite. It had a king-sized bed, and a fridge (we had to ask for it). The patio had a Jacuzzi on it and a sweet view of the ocean, pool, beach, etc. We often ate our meals out on the patio.
I read some reviews mentioning problems with beach vendors. I never saw one. As for recreation, we loved the Tiami, and also did some other touring and scuba diving. Jennifer will hook you up. We went to some good restaurants - the Cliff was very pretty, but insanely expensive. Instead, I'd go to Carambola, which was next door. It was just as pretty, the food was better, and at half the price.
There were some minor complaints, like the slowness of the pool bar staff, and the lack of an explanation when there was no shower water for three days (after repeated inquiries, we found out a local water main burst -somehow the gym had water, so we showered there).
All in all, we had a great trip, though. |

My sister and I went to the Accra Beach Hotel & Resort, and it was great! We are only 13 and 16, but everything was so effecient and we didn't need to even leave the resort.
I would definitely recommend this place if you want a fun place to hang out and chill. There were people of all ages and there was never a time when we got bored. |

We spent the first week of our honeymoon in paradise at the Accra Beach Hotel. The location was excellent, the rooms were excellent, the staff was, yes you guessed it, excellent!
The hotel was very clean and the food was fantastic. We didn't want to leave and if we are lucky enough to go back to Barbados, it would be the only place we would consider staying! |

This was our first stay at the Accra Beach Hotel and we hope to return someday. The beach, (where we were married during our stay) was beautiful and the small waves made it fun. My only criticism would be that closer to the hotel grounds, the sand was somewhat littered with cigarette butts.
The hotel itself was great. We had a poolview room on the second floor and in the middle of the property, so there was still a great view of the ocean, and we could hear the waves at night, even through the balcony doors. The room was always spotless and the staff was always friendly and helpful. There were some oceanview rooms that were either being upgraded or built on the east end of the hotel and they looked like they would be amazing when completed.
We didn't get a meal plan, but did have the barbeque buffet one night. While the food was pretty good, I wouldn't say that at BDS$60.00 per person it was worth it. Food, in general, in Barbados was expensive, though, and our Canadian dollar did not go very far.
We liked that the hotel was in a good proximity to both the St. Lawrence Gap,(which we found to be kind of overrated), and Bridgetown, but it wasn't too close to either - which was good. There was a bus stop and taxi stand right beside the hotel so it was very easy to get around.
If we are lucky enough to return to beautiful Barbados we would definitely stay here again. |

This was a clean hotel, with very friendly staff (my kids loved it). They also offered a kids club from 11:00 am - 3:30 pm, and it was efficient. This gave my wife and me time to ourselves.
If there was one criticism, it was that we went on a meal plan (half board, evening meal), and we found the menu repetitive. For this reason alone, we would not go back on the same meal plan. However, that does not mean that the food was not edible - it was very nice. But after 17 days, we went through the whole menu!
We are working on going back there this year, but not on the same board basis - just room and breakfast. With 2 young children, that would give us the option to eat whereever. |

My husband and I have four children and I have saved for two years to surprise him for his 50th birthday. I have never been to the islands before, so felt somewhat vulnerable not knowing exactly what to expect.
When we arrived at the Accra, our extremely cordial bellman, Adrian, showed us up to the room and explained everything about our stay. He opened the shutters and it took my breath away. (An ocean-view room is a must! )
This was the best week of our lives. Yes, the scenery was breathtaking. But the employees of the Acrra were wonderful and that made the vacation amazing.
We will definitely be back very soon.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was fantastic. The hotel was close to everything and if you needed to pick up incidentals, there was a little grocery store across the street. I would recommend this place in a heart beat. |

We were recently at this beach-front hotel and really enjoyed ourselves. We really liked the convenience of the plaza across the street, offering a change from the hotel. It was situatated close to The Gap and we could walk, if necessary.
The beach was beautiful and the hotel grounds were very well kept. The street noise was a little loud at times, but not unbearable. The staff and management were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was not far from a number of restaurants and halfway between the airport and Bridgetown.

My wife, four friends and I came here to escape a damp English winter. The location, staff, quality of the food and amenities helped us to do this.
We took the breakfast plan and were delighted at the quantity and quality of the varied choices. We literally feasted and this set us up for the rest of the day. The hotel’s location near to Bridgetown and the St Lawrence Gap put many very good restaurants within either walking distance or a short taxi ride away. The staff was helpful in arranging car hire and reservations at various restaurants and suggesting places to go. One even helped locate the home of Sir Garfield Sobers and assured us that he always welcomes visitors at certain hours. (She should know he is her uncle.)
We plan to visit again as soon as possible to experience this beautiful island, warm friendly people and a wonderful hotel.

A relaxing resort Visited: April 2001 |

This was our second stay at Accra Beach, the first being a year ago. Five members of our family had two adjoining rooms for 8 days and they even set up three twin beds in the one room for my 3 children (not cots like in some hotels). We chose Accra for the second time because of its charm, cleanliness, friendly staff, great pool, clean beachfront (note: all beaches in Barbados are public beaches), and great food.
Prices here are comparable to other reasonably priced Barbados resorts. The location is great: close to Bridgetown for shopping and the harbor, St. Lawrence Gap for great restaurants, and there is a quaint shopping center across the street for convenience foods, clothes, photo-finishing and even some of the best Chinese food that we've ever had. The fish restaurant across the street must also be tried. The hotel's morning breakfast buffet is great (suggest the meal plan at least for breakfasts). Lunch can be ordered right from your poolside chair. Also order a mini-fridge for the room to keep drinks cool. (Get some local beer; it's very good.)
Daytime temperatures in April were 30 C, and nighttime temperatures were around 27 C, but the constant light ocean breeze makes it comfortable. An Oceanview Room is highly recommended. Street-view rooms can sometimes be noisy since everyone honks their horn just to be friendly, but it will save you some money. Local bus to Bridgetown stops right in front of the hotel. Don't forget to go to the Manager's cocktail party every Monday Night. The rum punch is complimentary and lightens up the night very quickly. (There's no shortage of rum in the punch or Barbados!) The hotel's activities coordinator is also very helpful.
Accra provides a good mix of an all-inclusive type resort without having to feel restricted to the hotel. This allowed us to take in the sights around the island and try different restaurants if we wanted. We're planning to go back to Accra again next year.

My wife and I got married here January 25th, 2002.
The staff was great and gave us all a beautiful time. The wedding was on the beach at sunset. Our wedding meal was in the Coconut Restaurant to the sound of the surf on the beach.
We highly reccomend the Accra for weddings. |

Lovely Hotel Visited: January 2000 |

The Accra beach hotel has been spoilt by using all the gardens and conference rooms for business meetings, functions or outside weddings or all three. I was here in September 1997 and returned in Jan 2000 and was very disappointed.
The hotel is not for holiday makers. There is no holiday spirit at all. Also it is open for Club members to use all the facilities. What a shame, was lovely.
We have just come home from Barbados and it's still happening at the Accra. The garden was full of Markeys for a private function and the holiday makers were not allowed on certain parts of the hotel grounds. |
